POET LAD nearly made it back-to-back wins last start flying home late to finish 2nd. But the Lope de Vega didn’t have to wait long to find the winner’s stall again with a classy on-speed effort. From the low draw Grant Buckley went forward to sit outside the leader and had plenty of petrol in the straight to kick clear by 2L.
